Pelican Pools' Swimming Pool Guide
Step 3

Salt or Chlorine Water

Pelican Pools Swimming Pool

Salt Water Pool

Salt water pools use salt to keep your pool clean. (The salt goes through a chemical reaction to create chlorine). The salt water is softer and there for a lot easier on the eyes, however the water does not taste as salty as the sea.

Salt water pools are easier to maintain (by monitoring the PH levels and adding salt when necessary). A salt water pool is less expensive to maintain. If the water is murky, Salt Water pools may take 4-5 hours after an application of salt before it appears clear again.

Chlorine Pool

Chlorine pools were once commonplace but the advantages of a salt water pool far outweigh having a Chlorine Pool and we recommend you always choose the salt water option.
